The AIA Cleveland Awards serve as a beacon for architectural and interior design excellence, offering a platform for local firms to showcase their best work before nationally renowned juries.
This year’s AIA Cleveland Awards marked an exceptional occasion, gathering over 500 attendees to recognize and celebrate architectural and interior design excellence in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. It is a testament to the dedication and innovation within the industry, inviting firms to share their exceptional creations for review and acknowledgment by esteemed professionals.

Honor Award in Interior Architecture: Cleveland Foundation
In collaboration with S9 Architecture, Vocon designed the new headquarters for the Cleveland Foundation. The LEED Gold-targeted mass timber building serves as the Foundation’s new home and stands as a valuable resource for the community. Honorable Mention in Interior Architecture: Fahrenheit
Collaborating with Chef Rocco Whalen, Cleveland Construction, and Developer K&D, Vocon played a pivotal role in relocating Fahrenheit to Downtown Cleveland. The design embodies the essence of heat, fire, and passion that defines Chef Rocco Whalen’s culinary artistry, celebrating the transformative power of fire in both cooking and forging connections. Merit Award in Architecture: Great Lakes Cheese
Vocon’s design for Great Lakes Cheese’s new corporate headquarters emphasized wellness and the company’s core values. The Project showcases an inviting and warm architectural design that reflects the company’s identity and commitment to innovation. The comprehensive 90-acre campus master plan integrates a manufacturing expansion with the new headquarters, fostering a seamless connection between factory and administrative teams. Additionally, the exceptional work of Vocon’s Dave Robar in architectural photography received first and third-place awards: “Lumen Step Back” received first place and “Bridge Look” received third place. Dave was also awarded the prestigious Presidential Citation for his unwavering dedication to the AIA. His talent and creative vision further highlight the diverse skills and contributions within the Vocon team.
