Gerald “Ger” Herring has joined Vocon as a Technical Director in the greater Boston market.

A 30-year industry veteran, Ger’s established presence in the region will enable him to expand Vocon’s footprint, connecting the firm to new clients, consultants and contractors. Ger will begin his new role with Vocon immediately, assisting the Vocon Team with current and future Boston projects and coordinating with all local partners to produce superior project results.

Vocon vice chairman and managing principal Tom Vecchione said, “I am thrilled to continue expanding our presence in the Boston market with the addition of our new colleague, Gerald Herring. Ger’s expertise, decades of experience, local knowledge, and deep relationships will be invaluable to our teams’ mentorship and our office’s growth.”

Ger, who will operate as part of the New York City office while working and residing in Boston, earned a Dip Arch Hons Degree (the equivalent of a Masters in Architecture) through Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland. Ger worked with ADD Inc. in Cambridge, MA, for 12 years, following which he worked at Cube 3 and Gensler.

In his 30 years in the Boston area, Ger has led a variety of projects, including ground-up high-rise office buildings, tenant fit-outs, repositioning work, lobby renovations, fitness centers, medical office buildings, shopping malls, stick-built residential, retail, dining facilities, banks, and parking garages.

Said Ger, “I look forward to expanding Vocon’s footprint in the Boston area, building on the relationships I’ve developed with clients, consultants, and contractors over the past 30 years. I will be supporting Vocon’s current and future Boston projects, working closely with local clients and partners to deliver the highest quality of work.”
