Cleveland mainstay Oatey wanted a new corporate headquarters that was both sustainable and inspiring. We partnered with them on the design, and the result was a sustainable space that is one with its surroundings.
On the heels of its 100th anniversary, Oatey, a global manufacturer and distributor of plumbing parts, wanted to build a new headquarters that could inspire and support innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
Set on a stunning 7.6 acre site bordering the Cleveland Metroparks and sited to enhance the building’s energy performance, the new structure capitalizes on park views and natural light for the entire staff.
A variety of open and closed conference spaces support the growing call for collaboration amongst employees. Indoor cafés, an expansive porch and outdoor picnic areas, an outdoor walking trail, and a fitness suite all serve to make the space more inviting, while individual workspaces incorporate controls over temperature, light, and ergonomics.
A key concern during the design process was reducing environmental impact, which is reflected both in the architectural decisions that lead to LEED certification, as well as design elements such as the incorporation of native plant species in the grounds.
