An Oasis at the Office
Inspired by the idea of creating a spa-like retreat for busy urban commuters, Refresh57 is a luxurious amenity space designed to rejuvenate the body and mind of ESRT’s 250 West 57th Street office tenants. The project team’s vision was to craft an immersive spa experience that seamlessly integrates wellness into a corporate office environment. Whether winding down from a morning commute or seeking respite from a busy day, Refresh57 is an opportunity to relax and find peace.
The opulent design of 200 Madison Avenue’s past inspired the lobby renovation along Madison Avenue. Designed by Warren & Wetmore and built-in 1925-1926, the glittering neoclassical lobby of the building has a T-shaped plan consisting of three entrances. Entryways on East 35th and East 36th Street lead to a landmarked through-block arcade and a perpendicular elevator hall. These spaces comprised the original office tower lobby, with the arcade and entrance foyers containing richly embellished polished marble walls lined with recessed lunettes, patterned terrazzo floors, and gilded vaulted plaster ceilings inspired by Renaissance, Baroque, and 18th English sources.
Vocon partnered with MdeAS to bring the ultimate hospitality experience to 51W52. Featuring a restored landmarked plaza, renovated lobbies, and a new amenity suite, the enhancements will transport tenants to a space of tranquility and breathe new life into the historic building.
Designed to feel like an exclusive members-only club, the amenity space at 1 Willoughby Square serves as a place for tenants to find refuge during their workday or enjoy a cocktail after a long day in the office. The amenity area occupies 5,400 SF on the 15th floor, inclusive of outdoor space, and features a myriad of destinations that can be used for anything from focused work to hosting events to closing deals.
540 Madison Avenue is a 39-story, 291,000 SF Class-A office building in New York City situated in the Midtown neighborhood at the corner of Madison Avenue and East 55th Street. Originally built in 1970, Vocon worked with the DivcoWest team to complete a lobby refresh and create the “Water Tower Lounge,” a duplex conferencing, collaborating and convening amenity space that features a secret stair and celebrates the building’s original water tower. The softly curated palette and organic details embody the new, “fresh collegiality” persona, bringing life back to this classically designed building.
With their sights set on 2024, One Madison Avenue is in the midst of a major re-development – renovating 17 floors of office space. Once complete, the rentable space will total 1.4 million SF. Public spaces on the ground level will be completely re-designed to harmonize with this transformation. Under-utilized retail opportunities within the property will be explored and expanded to better serve the needs of the anticipated tenants and the dynamic neighborhood near Madison Square Park.
