Vocon is proud to announce that Senior Project Designer, Montgomery St. Peter, has been named one of Commercial Observer’s Top Young Professionals for 2023. This prestigious recognition highlights St. Peter’s outstanding contributions and innovative approach in the field of commercial design.
Coming from Detroit, a city marked by the transformation of abandoned office and industrial spaces, St. Peter developed a passion for repurposing commercial environments. Reflecting on his early experiences, he recalls being captivated by the hollowed-out skyscrapers and the challenge of revitalizing these structures. This fascination led him to pursue a career in interior design as a means to reimagine and breathe new life into these spaces.
During his time at Detroit’s College for Creative Studies, St. Peter interned at Shinola, contributing to the design of the renowned retailer’s new factory and headquarters. This experience laid the foundation for his career, showcasing his ability to merge creativity with functionality in adaptive reuse projects. After several other impressive experiences, in 2021, St. Peter brought his wealth of experience and expertise to Vocon, contributing to the firm’s commitment to innovative and impactful design.
Currently, St. Peter is involved in significant projects at Vocon, including base building upgrades and a new office for Harbor Group International at 51 West 52nd Street. Additionally, he is completing the buildout of a 100,000-square-foot office for a private equity firm in the top two floors of 50 Hudson Yards, showcasing his versatile design skills. Notably, his work has earned him additional projects, including a 40,000-square-foot office in Chicago and a 400,000-square-foot headquarters in Austin.
Montgomery St. Peter’s recognition as one of Commercial Observer’s Top Young Professionals for 2023 is a testament to his dedication, talent, and impact in the dynamic field of commercial design. Vocon congratulates Montgomery on this well-deserved honor and looks forward to his continued contributions to the world of innovative and transformative design.
