Vocon stands honored and grateful as multiple Projects and a talented Team member were acknowledged and celebrated at the AIA Cleveland Awards on Friday, November 22. The AIA Cleveland Awards serve as a beacon for architectural and interior design excellence, offering a platform for local firms to showcase their best work before nationally renowned juries.
With recent programs regularly having between 400 and 500 attendees, this event is one of the largest to recognize architectural and interior design excellence in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. It is a testament to the dedication and innovation within the industry, inviting firms to share their exceptional creations for review and acknowledgment.
We proudly received three AIA Cleveland accolades this year:
Honorable Mention in Interior Architecture: Doner | Assembly
For Doner | Assembly, we created a dynamic, light-filled workspace that balances their Main Street identity with the needs of a creative, hybrid workforce. Designed for inspiration and flexibility, the space supports collaboration, client engagement, and community connection, offering versatile settings for meetings, events, and creative sessions. Merit Award in Interior Architecture: Good Karma Brands
Good Karma Brands partnered with Vocon to relocate their Milwaukee Home Office and Studios, blending the Historic Matthews Building (1893) with a modern Annex connected to the Shoppes of Grand Ave Mall. The design bridges historic and modern elements, reflecting Good Karma’s community values and innovative approach. Recording studios face the mall’s food court, fostering local engagement, while a skylit cafe and game room enhance employee interaction and well-being.
Honorable Mention in Architectural Photography: “MJ & OP” by Vocon’s Dave Robar
Dave Robar’s captivating photograph, “MJ & OP,” earned Honorable Mention in this year’s Architectural Photography category. The title pays homage to M.J. and O.P. Van Sweringen, the visionary brothers and developers behind the iconic Terminal Tower complex and Shaker Heights in Cleveland. Dave’s ability to capture architectural essence and emotion reflects the artistic talents within the Vocon Team.
We thank our dedicated Project Teams, exceptional clients, and the AIA for the recognition. At Vocon, the acknowledgment from the AIA Cleveland Awards serves as both an honor and inspiration to continue pushing the boundaries of architectural excellence and innovation. Congratulations to all who contributed!
