Vocon, a leading national architectural and design firm, has been named one of Crain’s 2024 Best Places to Work in New York City. Founded in 1987, the firm has grown to more than 238 employees nationwide and holds an impressive portfolio of award-winning work.

Crain’s New York Business partners annually with Best Companies Group to conduct anonymous surveys of thousands of employees at New York City-based companies to select the best places to work based on employee evaluations of workplace policies, practices and demographics, as well as culture and work-life balance. The awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the 100 best companies to work for in the metropolitan area.

“Our business has always been built on relationships, and our relationship with our employees is critically important to us,” said Deb Donley, Vocon’s Chief Experience Officer. “Collaboration is a key principle at the firm, and our employees know that their thoughts and experiences are valued.”

Vocon was ranked 42 in a list of 100 top firms, rising 17 places from its previous ranking of 59. The firm, with 238 employees nationwide and 102 in New York, was recognized for its strong workplace culture, offering 15 paid holidays and covering 50% of healthcare premiums.

Vocon has a voluntary turnover rate of just 10%, demonstrating  that the company’s focus on its employees’ well-being and professional growth has been a success as it continues to reinforce its reputation as a leading employer in the architecture industry.

Since its founding, Vocon has established itself as a leader in the architectural and design world by providing employees with a balanced work-life experience. The company believes that satisfied and committed employees produce superior results for clients. Benefits include flexible work hours, four weeks of paid care and bonding leave for all new parents, along with having the week off between Christmas and New Year’s. In addition, the firm prioritizes career growth and advancement of employees by offering lunch-and-learns in which managers mentor junior Team members.

The Vocon Team regularly participates in team building activities to strengthen their connection to one another. The New York office completed Pride Month this year by engaging in a Pride walking tour of Greenwich Village, where they learned more about Stonewall Inn, a pivotal landmark in the LGBTQ+ rights movement.

We are honored to be named one of the Best Places to Work in New York City again this year and to be a winner alongside some of our best clients and partners!
